Design the exhibition graphics and catalogue/kit for 2012’s No Island is a Man Exhibition

The DeVos Art Museum asked me to design the graphics and exhibition catalogue/kit for Andrew Ranville’s No Island is a Man exhibition. Melissa Matuscak, Andrew Ranville and myself worked in close collaboration to create “Artifact Kits” that best represented the exhibition, but be like no other exhibition materials. Each kit has a laser engraved image of the island and is CNC cut to resemble a book. The kit contains an exhibition catalogue — containing essays about the show and artist — a map of the island, photographic postcards taken during Andrew’s time on the island, a match safe and compass, recycled jump drive containing sound recordings from the island, and a recycled pencil to take down your own “field notes” in the back of the catalogue.
